DOPEST Video of the Week: "Did My Best." by Kaze4letters
Continuing to showcase all of his musical personalities, Durham, NC based artist/producer Kaze4letters takes us on a trip around the world to try find out what it takes to make a woman happy in his new single/video “Did My Best.”. This hella DOPE release, which is recognized as our DOPEST Video of the Week, is featured on Kaze4letters’ latest album, “A Thousand Shades of Black.”
In an energetic and colorful visual reminiscent of late 90s/early 2000s MTV, the track (produced by Kaze4letters) carries the same nostalgic sound and vibe of old fashioned 80s/90s dance and club records, like Bobby Brown and Soul II Soul (“It’s a dance floor vibration” is a tribute to Jazzy B) but yet it’s reggae infused bounce remains modern.
Directed by 90Degree Filmz, this age old story of relationship with a toxic ex that’s impossible to please has never been this relatable and fun to dance to. In the words of BBD, it’s “Hip hop smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop appeal” sure to be a favorite on cookout playlists this spring and summer.
