Artificial Pleasure Reveal the Visual For "The Movement of Sound", Off Their Album "A New Joy"

London-based three-piece Artificial Pleasure, formed in 2016, and comprised of Dom Brennan, Phil McDonnell, and Lee Jordan, have been a unique voice on the British music scene. Their expansive sound combines rock, electronica and new wave with angular post-punk guitars, tight rhythmic grooves and flourishes of disco-tinged energy.

The trio has just released their second album “A New Joy”, and one of its many standout tracks is “The Movement of Sound”, for which an animated music video has just been revealed. Directed by Jamie She of London band Wooze, it playfully melds surrealist video art with greenscreen footage of Artificial Pleasure to create an anarchic visual treat. Drawing on the psychedelic influences in the music, She confronts the viewer with a barrage of visual jokes and art history allusions that has a restless energy and personality of its own.

Built around a tight central groove, the song is about music, dancing and the primal, ritualistic sense of connection it engenders. In the words of Phil McDonnell ‘like many people we miss the cathartic power that music can bring to a crowd. We miss the raw energy of live performance and look forward to dancing together again in brighter times’.
