Singer-Songwriter Autumn Nicholas Shares Her New Single "Back When"

Songwriter Autumn Nicholas continues her theme of powerful songwriting with new single "Back When." The ballad serves as the follow-up to her passionate single on equal rights - "Side by Side".
"Back When" serves as a reminder of how quickly life can change and highlights the little things we take for granted each day. It feels especially relevant in our current climate with social distancing and lockdowns around the country. The lyrics almost seem to harken back to the days when we could walk hand-in-hand and spend intimate time with the ones we love. Musically, a sparse, piano-driven arrangement highlights her soaring vocals and raw emotion.
Nicholas elaborates on the meaning behind the track, "If time didn’t cost you a dime, how would you spend it? This song is about the joy of time well spent and longing for the moments we sometimes miss. A child's first steps, long walks with a father, birds chirping at 3 am, time with your partner, and savoring the feeling of falling back in love. Time to share moments we might miss or forget if we don’t take the time to hold on to the joy in that moment. Giving ourselves the ability to savor the time we have and the people that share it with us."
