Rich Vysion Delivers His Inspirational New Track "Save Me"

For years, conscious rapper Rich Vysion was hiding behind a carefully-crafted gangster pose while inside battling insecurity, an onslaught of cheap-shot criticism, and his own private trauma. There was a disconnect between his sensitivity, his longing to connect and heal, and Vysion’s private journaling where he felt a soulful catharsis sharing his feelings, free of any judgements. After a brave journey of self-discovery and diligent work on his artistry, Vysion has integrated his authentic self into his public expression. He announces this new era of authentic artistry with his latest single, “Save Me”, produced by Miranda Glory.

I want my music to embody ‘self-worth’ because for many years I deemed myself as a worthless failure. I longed to alter the ‘not enough’ narrative in my head into ‘I am enough,’”the Bronx-born, Brooklyn-based rapper says. “I want my message to empower others. My desire is to enrich the lives of others through my music and spoken word content.”

Vysion is now committed to giving back to others through his music. “Save Me” is the first offering in a rebooted music career with a purposeful intent and a positive message.

Here, Vysion almost confides in the listener, rapping: “Save me from my demons/Save me from my pride/Save me from this prison that I made inside my mind/Save me from believing/Giving up is fine/Cuz Instead of living I feel like I’m doing time.” His art is the kind where those experiencing it are witnessing a transformation—watching the artist writhe and twist out of a painful past to embrace hope and change. In being there for the song, we, in turn, feel a catharsis and a desire to do and be better. The track is both ambient and anthemic. It is coated in melancholy musicality, adorned with a longing female vocal hook, and propelled by Vysion’s effortless flow and an undeniable beat.

His brave journey from victim to victor began through peeling back his braggadocio persona and connecting through expressing his feelings. “What helped me get out of the victim mentality was having people hold the space for me to just speak about the depression I felt,” he reveals. “Save Me” is the work of a man now ready to help others save themselves.
