Queens Based Rapper Dre A.M. Unveils His Latest Banger "For The Music", Featuring ArmstrongWW

Hailing from Queens, New York, Dre A.M. is the most confident anxious-rapper alive. While relentlessly self deprecating, Dre also exhibits an unshakeable confidence in his delivery; almost as if he is boastful of his own shortcomings. The NYC native seems to sharpen his pen, flow, and songwriting abilities with each impending release, and his seemingly effortless demeanor compounds the impressive nature of these tracks.

The twenty-one year old is vocal about his influences - proclaiming that he felt a profound inspiration in Earl Sweatshirt's early projects for example. I, for one, can hear the parallels in Dre's sense of meter, along with the brutal transparency we heard in "IDLSIDGO" and "Doris".

Aesop Rock is another apparent source of influence - the two share a tongue in cheek, facetious tone in their lyrics, as well as a way of describing well known ideas and phrases with an entirely fresh linguistic approach.

Dre’s DOPE new track, “For The Music”, is an interesting hybrid of Boom Bap, Experimental, and Lofi Hip Hop. It has an air to it that is reminiscent of the early 2010's group Odd Future, in the sense that the lyrics and attitude of the two artists have a careless demeanor. The verses present a polarity; Dre A.M. vents his frustrations with being undervalued in the music industry, while featured artist ArmstrongWW shares his appreciation for simply just the creative process of the music itself.
