Pop Artist and Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Blake Proehl Unveils His New Single "Happy Without Me"

Blake Proehl just released his third single “Happy Without Me”. The song's personal, relatable, and vocally driven lyrics hone in on the emotions that accompany coping with an ex-lover moving on. Blake’s vocals, ranging from smooth to powerful, illustrate the many highs and lows that come with love.
Blake’s inspiration for this song came from the emotion one feels after seeing a picture of an ex with their new partner. Blake said “I had no idea that despite not wanting her back, it would hurt to see her happy with someone else. I wanted to write a relatable song about the heavier side of a relationship after previously focusing on the happier aspects.”
Blake’s musical journey began at a young age, but his talent has blown up since going viral on TikTok. However, Proehl isn’t your everyday singer-songwriter, nor is he a stranger to the spotlight. The 23 year old worked his whole life to achieve his dream of making it to the NFL, and joined the Minnesota Vikings as a wide receiver straight out of college last year.
After a devastating injury during his rookie season, his life in football came to a screeching halt. While Blake isn’t giving up on his NFL journey, he’s used this recovery period and unexpected downtime to fall in love with making music. As Proehl works on his physical recovery, he is also perfecting his musical prowess and expanding his skill set with the piano, guitar, and through co-writing sessions.
Proehl’s smooth vocals are just the beginning — he is constantly gaining artistic inspiration from his interpersonal relationships as well as his own journey to physical recovery.
