As soon as I heard it I wanted to dive in and make a remix, adding fun to all the conversations about life. Our queerness and music identity heavily inspired where I wanted to take this song.”
Tiiva has been producing and writing their own recipe of raw queer pop songs, utilizing a lonely year in London to emerge with their first song ‘WAVES’. Having released a handful of remixes, they discovered ‘Yellow’ by Luan Mei, a queer love story evoking a summer of experience and encounters that redefined the labels of sexuality. This remix is a defining statement, identifying Tiiva as both a producer and queer artist, remixing in their own unique style of chopped vocals and wild rhythms, while remaining always true to the emotional integrity of the LGBTQIA experience.
Luan Mei is a young independent singer-songwriter and guitarist who hails from Madrid, and is now based in Brighton, UK. She began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and writing her own songs at 15 as a way of understanding feelings and life situations through her synaesthetic conception of the world. Her constant search for her own sound brought her to Brighton at the age of only 18, where she graduated in Songwriting and launched her career as a songwriter. Luan has performed in many Brighton venues including The Prince Albert, The Mesmerist and Latest Music Bar, as well as at The Great Escape festival in 2019; Sofar Sounds London and Alevosia in her hometown. She released her debut single ‘Elements’ in 2019, which caught the attention of BBC Radio, Radio Reverb and Platform B Radio.
