Maurice James is a talented Chicago based RnB/Soul singer-songwriter who recently unveiled his new single “Angels Exist”. This song follows his piano driven debut EP, "Rare View", which was released in 2020, which finds Maurice introducing his genre bending style to the world, blending expressive vocals with honest lyricism.
Though we are hearing “Angels Exist” for the first time now, Maurice started working on it years ago. Speaking about its conception, he says —
“I began writing this song about a couple of years ago, during the time when I was thinking very deeply about my relationship with my longtime girlfriend. I continued to work on it and finished writing it as we celebrated 5 years of being together in 2021, and right before we moved from LA to to Chicago. It's a song that is very close to my heart as it is written as a love letter to her.”
