Coming off her “23” mixtape release in 2020, Baby Cate starts the year off with her new single “If I Fall”, which we’ve designated as our DOPEST Song of the Day".
The Boston artist brings melodies which are very much in tune with the instrumentation, but the lyrics provide a deeper meaning to the track.
“If you really listen to the song, it’s not as happy as it may seem. I guess it speaks on times I go through as a human, especially right now.”
Like all of her previous tracks, she wrote and produced the song. “I wanted to be more conscious of what’s going on around me this time around, whether in the world today or in my personal life. I think you can hear more confidence in the words I’m saying now.”
